Welcome to Create Decorative Concrete. Find helpful tips and
information and different products that can help you create beautiful decorative
concrete.
There are three common methods in decorative concrete: scoring, chemical
staining and concrete stamping.
Scoring is a method applied to walls and other coverings. Using a circular saw,
shallow cuts of approximately 1/8 inch deep are made creating impressions of
different symmetrical shapes and patterns.
Chemical staining is a rather unpredictable method that is usable on new and old
concrete slabs. Chemical bonding is used to form different stains and patterns
by taking advantage of the lime content in the floor. The chemical bonding
method is considered to be unpredictable because it can react with other
chemicals or even environmental conditions.
Concrete stamping works by using freshly cast concrete surfaces. To create
outlines and textures mimicking brick, tile, slate or wood planks, rigid or
flexible patterns are used.
Concrete driveways add elegance and a welcoming impression to your home. A
concrete driveway can enhance the value of your home at a surprisingly
reasonable cost, especially when you figure the years of trouble-free use you
will get from it. Let your imagination run wild -- your concrete driveway can be
a canvass upon which your exotic, creative ideas spill out.
